BATT helps more than 1000 families after flooding
January 9, 2018 BATT

Following the heavy rains and floods in the month of October, which caused significant damage to communities in south and north-east Trinidad, the Bankers Association of Trinidad and Tobago (BATT), has partnered with the Global Security Forum, the Joint Chambers (AMCHAM TT, Energy Chamber, TT Chamber, TTCSI and TTMA) on a T&T Disaster Relief initiative.

The T&T Disaster Relief initiative will bring relief to an estimated 1000 families in the south and north east areas of Trinidad and Tobago who have been directly affected by the floods.

As part of the initiative, BATT will donate 500 mattresses,1000 relief hampers and 40 large appliances (stoves and refrigerators) to families in the Moruga, Talparo, Mayaro, Woodland, Penal, Caroni Central, Tunapuna/Piarco and San Juan/Laventille areas.

BATT has a long history of corporate social engagement, having had the privilege and responsibility of being a partner with communities and the people of Trinidad and Tobago over the past 20 years. We stand ready, on this and other occasions of disaster relief appeals, to reach out to vulnerable families to help restore homes and rebuild communities.
